Nail Clipping

It is important to keep your dog's nails short. If your dog does not go for regular walks particularly on concrete and stone, the nails can grow to uncomfortable lengths. In severe cases the nails can curl around and dig into the dogs paws.

Mobile Dog Wash provides a nail clipping service to customers who request it. Getting your dog's nails clipped costs an extra $5.

Clippers

We use high quality stainless steel clippers and are trained to keep your dog clam cool and collected when getting his or her nails clipped. We make sure to avoid the quick of the paws so that your dog feels no pain and consequently does not fear future nail clippings.

Helpful Tips

If you intend to clip your dogs nails yourself, get a bowl of treats and take your dog's foot. Give him or her a treat, and let go of the foot. The idea is to get your dog to equate foot touching with yummy treats and think "take my paw again, i want a treat". Graduated to doing the paw & treat trick while holding the nail clippers.

When the dog is relaxed about the clippers being present, clip one nail, and keep doing the hold paw & treat routine as if never happened.

The key is not to force the issue. If you insist on holding your dog's foot until he or she gives in or until all nails have been clipped, it would only get worse.

First clip each of your dog's nails, giving him or her a treat every other nail or so. Then go back with a nail file and file the edges of the nails smooth.
